With the incredible success and hypes surrounding each of the sequels of The Terminator, there was never denying that the fourth film would be on their way. Hey, welcome to watchmojo.com, I’m your host Derrick Allen. And we’ll be taking a look at Terminator Salvation as well as the first television series of the franchise terminator Sarah Connor Chronicles. Serving as the starting point for a new trilogy, salvation is the first of the termination film to abandon the successful story line of having Terminator’s travel back in time to alter the future. In this fourth installment, the action is set entirely in 2018 long after judgment day had destroyed much of the civilized world. It is the first to focus completely on the future battle between Skynet and the Resistance. Because the original film set the war between 2029 and 2032, this sequel focuses on John Connor’s rise to the range of the Resistance. And on the mistrust, many soldiers felt for him because of his extensive challenge of Skynet. Salvation also focuses on John Connor’s relationship with teenage soldier Kyle Reese, the man who eventually would be sent back in time to protect John’s mother from the terminator and ultimately became John’s father at the same time. The Sarah Connor Chronicles meanwhile first aired in January of 2008 and picked up the story in the gap between the second and third films. John and Sarah Connor were now living as fugitives after they destroyed Cyberdyne Systems in 1995. With the help of a terminator model named Cameron sent back in 2029, the three-year pursued by an FBI agent convinced Sarah Connor is criminally insane as well as a new terminator model named Carl martin. Arguably, one of the most successful movie series in history, the advancements and evolution of the terminator cyborg just help show the creativity of the franchise. Just as an interesting note, the terminator character is the only character on the American Film Institute list of best heroes and best villains.
