Welcome to Growing Wisdom and this is our tip segment. Here we try to give you one or two little ideas of things that you can do around your house for the particular week and this week go get a rain gauge. You know we talk about water meters but a rain gauge is really important and a lot of you, my self included, sometimes you hear the rain and then you think oh I have enough rain and you did not have enough rain and you did not have enough rain. You need about an inch of water a week in order to sustain most plants outside so a rain gauge is really helpful because it actually tells you how much rain you are getting and if you yet 0.10 and then 0.20 and that is it for two weeks, that is only a third of an inch. That is not enough so you need to augment your watering, so a rain gauge is incredibly helpful.
