The Irish Coffee, originates in Ireland coming to America and now for you, a wonderful drink to have on those cold winter night to warm you up.
Welcome to the Cocktail Spirit from Small Screen Network. I'm your host Robert Hess.
Now one of the most famous coffee drinks out there is the Irish Coffee which of course originates from Ireland. But it wasn’t until it came down to San Francisco that really started taking, pickup steam and get more popularized here in America. Let me show you how to made.
We start of with an Irish Coffee cup which anytime you got to find glass you're going to be taking putting hot liquids into, you want to make sure you preheated ahead of time so there's no hot temperature shock going on. So you got some hot water in here, empty that out. Now to this we’re going to add about four ounces of hot coffee and then we’re going to add a couple of teaspoon of sugar and on the past we commented about using simple syrup instead of sugar since sugar really dissolves well on hot liquids we don’t need to worry about that here.
So I just stir it to make sure the sugar is well dissolved. To this we then add one ounce of Irish Whiskey. Then we take some cream and then we already parsley whipped up ahead of time and kept in our cooler.
We don’t want to sick whip on it but just kind of nice frothy whip and here is a part to see whether we did this right of not. You just want to take and put that on the top of the drink like that. Now one of the secrets of an Irish Coffee is getting the cream to sit on the top of the coffee like we have here. The original Irish Coffee are served in Ireland was using the local cream. Here at America we don’t have that type of raw cream and there some slight chemical characteristics that are unique to having the raw cream versus your Homogenized pasteurized cream.
So in down in San Francisco they kept on trying to do this the cream kept on floating to the bottom. What they discovered was by not using fresh cream but actually using cream even sitting in the refrigerator for a couple of days then whipping it up it did something to it and allow to sit on the top like this. So try to avoid using fresh straight from this supreme like a cream but let it sit on your refrigerator for a couple of days so it can also seat on the top like this. And there we have the Irish Coffee.
