The Jazz Bebop Era

Now, I will give you the list of the essential recordings from bebop era. Number one, Billie’s Bounce by Charlie Parker in 1945. this really helped to kickoff the bebop era, but Charlie Parker and his unbelievable crazy fast unbelievably melodic way of soloing and completely changed the course of jazz. Number eight, Proven High by Grovin High by Dizzy Gillespie in 1945. Dizzy Gillespie worked very closely with Charlie Parker in their earliers together and they’re both known as the two grandfathers of bebop swing. Number nine, A Night in Tunisia by Charlie Parker, 1946, and number ten, Misterioso by Thelonious Monk and that’s from 1948. Thelonious Monk was known for his choppy, really cool sort of sounding piano playing and he was extremely influential and a lot of young jazz musicians like to get their start learning Thelonious Monk tunes even to this day.
