Hello and welcome to the Knee Pain Guru, Knee Pain Questions Answered.
I have a question here that says, I had Patellar Tendon surgery about a year back, and I still can't run down slopes, it hurts when I kneel and there is sudden pain when it's cold and the knee still feels weird. Are these long-term effects?
Well, you didn't leave your name. So, in my own experience, I had ACL reconstruction, and they used that ACL as the Anterior Cruciate Ligament, which is one of the ligaments in you knee. It prevents your knee from popping out of the socket or popping out of the joint when you make a side-to-side movement, and in order to replace that ligament in the knee, they took part of my patellar tendon which is the tendon that holds your knee cap in place.
So I had a surgery very similar to that, and what happens is when there is a surgery like that, of course, they have to cut through the skin, through the fascia which is a connected tissue, and into the tendon itself to get to it. And that can be a very long process in which to get over.
So there was probably a few years afterwards that I still had effects from that surgery. However, there are some things you can specifically do to speed up that process. I have outlined some of them in my book, 'Stop Your Knee Pain Now'; you can access that on my website.
However, there are few other things that you can do to speed up that recovery and one is increase your water intake. You are probably getting emails from me regarding that, which will speed up the process as well as improving your diet, meaning eating more natural, raw, live foods. What that does is that, is the fuel in your tank for your body to feel itself quicker. And by increasing the water intake and eating better food, staying away from food that's processed, junk food, fast food, things like that, that puts really good fuel in your tank that allows your body to do what it needs to do to heal your knee quicker.
So hopefully that answers your question. If it did not, please send me an email at bill@thekneepainguru.com. You can also access lots more information as well as all the videos on my website, thekneepainguru.com and I hope that helps and I will see you soon. Thanks a lot! Bye-bye!
