Hello! And welcome to your Knee Pain Questions Answered, session 13. My name is Bill Parravano. I have a question this week from J.L. says, Bill, I just finished reading your presentation, you have done your homework. I am a 70-year-old male with two bad knees and avoided surgery for several years. I have two jobs, a barber and work at a casino. Both acquire me to stand and walk 16 hours a day for four days a week.
The other day, I only stood about nine hours, Monday's a rest. I am 6 foot 3 inches tall, 215 pounds. I exercised in my swimming pool five months out of the year. Let's see. Normally, I climb stairs during the off season three days a week. This usually involves 35 minutes. Bill, I am not a whiner, I groan. Thanks for the information you'll be hearing for me.
J.L., thank you very much for your email. A big part of what's going on when you experiencing knee pain, especially for someone who stands for a long period of time is, the tension pattern is when the body is standing up. So for a person to sit or sleep in any other position besides straight, it's going to be difficult. Because, what happens is the body is holding the tension pattern rigid. This happens over the period of your life, that when you watch a child, they fall on the ground, they will get up and they may cry a little bit, it's not a big deal for them, they don't hold the lot of tension.
Yet, as we get older, as we grow up, become more mature, we gain more tension in our body, which makes the body less flexible and less able to handle long periods of time of stressful situations. Your sum total of all your experiences is your entire life; it's like the string that's been wound up your entire life. What happens is a lot of times the knees are the weakest link in the series of tension from the head to the feet, it's important to understand this, that as we begin to unwind the tension pattern from the head to the feet, the knees will go away on their own.
I have been putting together a comprehensive program. It's a five step program that addresses water, nutrition, exercise, stretching, and breathing in a systematic way that will help the body unwind these tension patterns, creating the conditions for your body to heal the knees on their own. So you can go ahead and check that out at www.thekneepainguru.com, so that's certainly going to help your situation as far as what's going on with your knees.
If you have any questions yourself, you can send them to bill@thekneepainguru.com and I will get to those to the best of my ability. There are a lot of questions coming in, so I get to the one that I am able to, the people that are members of my website, I get to all of those, so that is an incentive for being a member on my website.
So that is the end of session 13, and we will see you next time. Thank you so much. Bye-bye!
