Let's look now at another very simple street effective technique. Yeah, this time it is a knee strike, okay. Now the knee strike works in the same ways as the car crash syndrome, if you like, okay. Two cars are traveling at 30 miles and hour hit head-on it is a 60 mile an hour car crash. The knee strike is usually -- the same science is applied there. So the guys came in here, okay.
What we are looking at is two power, it is the knee being driven up through the body in to the attacker, and then the second power comes from pulling your attacker in to the strike, okay. You are just pulling that body weight down to meet the attack, so if you look at those two powers together, very, very powerful street effective technique, okay. The body weight being driven in to the knee, okay.
Okay good, okay. The knee strike, very, very effective street self defense technique.
Self defense, by definition means that you want to do more damage to your attacker than they may do to you. If you look at any of the crime shows on TV today, you will see CCTV footages of street fights where perpetrator1 hits perpetrator2 and then perp2 hits perp1, this continues until one of them is rendered helpless or the police arrive to creak it up.
Now this to the onlooker, is often seen as ridiculous or even comical, but in martial art schools, combat schools all over the world, if you attack I deflect or dodge style of fighting is being taught and learnt and on the streets in a terrifying real-life situation, this is going to get you hit and hurt at best.
When attacked, hit them and keep hitting them with everything that you have got until you have an escape route or they are down and they are staying down. Remember, just do what you have got to do to get away but you have got to hit them with everything you have got until you can get away.
