On the evening of the 21st of December 1988 a bomb exploded on pan am flight 103, a boeing 747-121. The airplane had taken off from Heathrow airport and was en route for JFK New York. victims and debris was scattered over a 130 miles stretch of south west Scotland, with both wings and some of the fuselage landing in Sherwood

I just start at seven o’clock on the evening of the 21st of December 1988.

A bomb exploded on Pan Am Flight 103, a Boeing 747-121 named Clipper Maid of the Sea. The airplane had taken off from Heathrow Airport and was on roof for JFK in New York, but the 450 grams of plastic explosives detonated—cargo code completely destroying the plane. Victims and debris were scattered over huge stretch of Southwest Scotland with both wings and some of the fused large landing on show with crescent in the small town of Lockerbie.

Everyone on board is killed as well as the 11 people on the ground. In 2001, Libyan intelligence officer Abdelbaset Ali Mohmed Al Megrahi was jailed for life for the planting of the bomb although he has always claimed his innocence.
