The Medical Response to the Natural Approach

Lyle Hurd: How does the medical community respond to your protocols which are so valid and/or radically different than what we go through with the whole drug situation?

Robert Kowalski: Doctors have been extremely welcoming of this for two reasons. Number one the compliance rate that is to say the percentage of patients who will actually remain on prescription drugs for blood pressure owing to their side effects is very low that's number one, so they like to find a way to get blood pressure down with something that the patients would actually go along with. And number two that all of the things that I write about in the book are solidly backed in hardcore science. The kind of science that physicians like to see, that physicians are used to in their own training and I think that also there has been a quantum leap in the past two decades in receptivity in the medical community to alternative approaches in healthcare, and recognizing that their patients would prefer for the most part to take a supplement to make a few lifestyle modifications rather than being literally tethered to a prescription drug that they would have to take for the rest of their lives.
