Okay, let me show you now a very nice control called the Hofzinser spread control. I have already talked about this a little bit with one card and the nice thing about this is you can use the exact same technique and control several cards.
Even five or six or seven cards, for just illustrative purposes, once again, I will control the four queens.
This is what it looks like at regular speed. Imagine those are four selected cards you say “Please, just tell me when to stop or where you like to put your card?”
Card number one goes into the deck. You say “How about you sir?”
Say stop.
There is card number two, very good.
How about you sir?
A little further in the deck.
There is number three and one more, you can put yours about there. That is great.
Four cards, different parts of the deck, hopelessly lost. All you do is you turn them face up.
There they are.
This is exactly the same technique used for controlling one card and the same handling is calling cards. But you do as a control; I will leave them face up, jut to make it easier to follow.
First card goes in about say, there.
As you close up to spread, remember you pushed their card over.
The thumb holds under the card that is on the bottom of the right hand pocket and at the same time, the right finger is secretly underneath, pull the chosen card underneath to spread. That is the important action.
Then you continue. You can actually separate the hands as you continue. You say “The number two?” anytime you like to say stop, that is where your card is replaced, it goes in, I will do it face up and do the same action, you close up and you call the card and you control it underneath to spread with the first card.
Exactly the same as before, number three. A little further down into the deck and remember, you push it over, you cover it with this card, the bottom card of the right hand pocket and then you secretly call it with the fingertips of the right hand underneath to spread and you continue,
One more card about here,
Close up to spread, pull that underneath and that give your four cards from four different parts of the deck all controlled to the bottom.
