First of all I have been practicing Yoga for about 9 months, and it has toned my body. It is a practice that challenges and strengthens the body while increasing flexibility. Yogis are not looking for bulky bodies. Yoga also opens the mind and it produces a sense of well being. Because of Yoga, I probably will never work out at a gym, because those activities do not let someone go inward, and become the witness to the sensations in the body. This man is obviously ignorant and just let him be.

I'd like to see how you cope at one of my teacher's yoga classes! lol Granted, yoga won't usually build big old muscles like you probably have under that t-shirt (muscles which make bodybuilders look fat clothed, to my eye) but that's exactly why I do Yoga, I don't WANT bulky muscle. Yoga has given me far more toned arms, belly, everything (going from plank position to cobra for example you are using your own body weight as the resistance - this exercise alone has removed my bingo wings and given me toned upper arms without bulky muscles). A good yoga class is TOUGH. I don't think you could do it, to be honest

Despite all the ignorant comments here, this man is correct. Its not about looking thin, or wellness. Be ALIVE and be STRONG. I bet you that this guy is stronger than any of you yoga practitioners.

awwweee... bless is yankie cotton sox. How cute he is thinking that we all want to look like him. And I'm not sure that everyone who takes up yoga does it with the body beautiful in mind (I hope not anyways) I guess his heart is in the right place, albiet slightly misguided.

What a fool. You can use your own body weight, as does yoga and pilates, to provide the resistance. Wouldn't it be nice if they used someone with some expertise to spout their rhetoric?

Wow looks like someone briefly saw yoga on tv or in pictures and passed a SWEEPING judgment. What a meat head, does anyone really wanna be like this guy?

Obviously, this person does not know the true purpose of yoga, if he did, he would not waste his time talking about this. If you want to be strong, from the inside out, do yoga and don't listen to this man who, IS EMPTY and focuses on the "outside" of things.
