LOL. This guy could not make it through my power yoga class, fa sho. The hefty ones have the worst endurance, balance, flexibility and yes..... strength. Can you do a handstand?

So you are saying that gravity or body weight are not forms of resistance or force?

Good lord. You're painting a picture of a yoga class for geriatrics. Advanced yoga postures place a lot of demand on the muscle (example: handstands, arm balances etc). You don't think yoga tones? Take a look at a typical advanced practitioner of ashtanga yoga - chiselled, long muscle. Can you say the same? I know what I strive for - lean muscle that is functionally strong.

Steve Turano is actually an extremely well educated man when it comes to human anatomy, and most things related to it, but his own arrogance and attitude is what prevents him from obtaining the kind of following he wants. We would all like to be an authority on everything we talk about, but we just aren't. However, Steve wants to believe he is, and tries to portray himself that way. When discussing a topic he has less knowledge on (such as this one), he tries to cover his statements with extreme exaggerations and "bold" personal claims. He also tries to promote his own products by sarcastically talking down any program/product more popular than his own...which too often just comes off as sour grapes. This man makes no secret about how much he wants his own radio or TV show...but until he learns to develop better social skills and a more appealing attitude toward the people he wants to help, he will remain as he is...a guy with no more than a handful of actual paying cust

your stupid, you can tone your body with yoga and polaties, you do use weights- the weight of your body on your legs, the weight of your body on your arms, you do a handstand and hold it for 5-10min everyday i garuntee you it will tone our arms, especially with your weight, stand with your legs a metre apart and squat so your hips are in line with your knees, and hold that for 5-10 min my legs and arms are heaps toned from doing just some of these excersises my stomach looks great now also not to mention butt, calves back, shoulders, the reason you move slowly is so you dont injure yourself and it creates indurance and strength c'mon man you dont have to be so arrogant and narrow minded.

First of all I have been practicing Yoga for about 9 months, and it has toned my body. It is a practice that challenges and strengthens the body while increasing flexibility. Yogis are not looking for bulky bodies. Yoga also opens the mind and it produces a sense of well being. Because of Yoga, I probably will never work out at a gym, because those activities do not let someone go inward, and become the witness to the sensations in the body. This man is obviously ignorant and just let him be.
