The Nexus One Is No iPhone - Review
Hi! Frugal Tech here and I wanted to make a quick video for you about the Nexus One from Google. And I named this video the Nexus One Is No iPhone. Now, it seems like everyday manufacturers are trying to come out with the next iPhone killer and Google is apparently hoping that this new device, the Nexus One might be just that. Now, I got to to tell you though, Google’s little late to the party. In 2007, Apple introduced to the world to a very, very capable smartphone, the iPhone. And they gave it a very, very sleek multi-touch interface in a small form factor, very sleek design and this device has become just so useful with all the apps.
Now, the application store has over a hundred thousand applications, over three billion downloads. So here, we have Google now going direct selling a smartphone directly to the public which to me makes no sense whatsoever but that’s a video for different time. They got into the mobile phone operating system with Android. Now, they’ve got Android 2.1 which is what the Nexus One is operating with. Now, you can get this phone for $529.00 unlocked or $179.00 with a two-year commitment with T-Mobile but I got to tell you that is no iPhone killer.
Here are some of my reasons why. Number one, there is no multi-touch interface for the Nexus One. To me that is a deal breaker. Number two, the visual design of the user interface of the Android is locking compared to the iPhone in my opinion. Number three, my iPhone is my iPod. It’s a wonderful music and media device to boot. Number four, mobile games. The Apple iPhone has got it all over Android right now in the mobile game space. Number five and you may take issue with this, well, let’s talk a little bit about security with the close ecosystem of the Apple store in Safari. The average consumer is going to have a safer experience with downloads from Apple than they are with the Android operating system. Now, number six, battery browsing experience with the iPhone with Safari, with the pinch and zoom gestures. It's going to be a lot better experience for people. And finally, Apple is not going to quit innovating in one New York second the iPhone, it's just not going to leave it static. Now, when they’re going to continue to work hard to make this a super great device, that it is. And we’ll see what’s going to be introduced by Apple on January 27 but you know, there is also the possibility that the iPhone can also wind up with Verizon and that would end one of the big reasons that AT&T sucks which a lot of people do believe.
I want your opinions and comments about the iPhone and the Nexus One. I love to hear from you. Make sure that you will leave your comments and we always like to get your ratings from it and hearing from it. And by the way, we do a live show every Monday to Thursday at 7PM Eastern Standard Time at live.frugalbrothers.com. Hey! I’ll talk to you later.
