Jay Friedman: We have a lot of exercise machines to depart from other training programs, either on the past or presently today. One based on science, one based on himself. This man lives. It is his passion to say the least. I've been on call for over 15 years. I've been involved with the institute for that amount of time already. There is no one else like him.
I really thought of calling because it's his passion to say the least. There is nothing else he can show me about except standard of care. With people like myself and other faculty, I've seen it developing grow over the last 15 years that I have been involved with the institute. I had seen changes of doctors that have come to the institute, how it affected their practice, whether it's one case a month that they know that they can treat with confidence and treatment plan and execute the treatment and have a good success rate. If they're doing it on daily basis, that they don't have the complications and problems that existed for many of us as we were moving through 25 years ago for some of us, that we have today, tremendous.
There are varieties of different program options that doctors can go through. There is a series of free programs from the restorative stand point. There is a series of about six programs in the surgical stand point. Each are three days in duration and yet the faculty and available almost effectively 24x7 to help answer questions, as well as doing things online for the doctors after the program is over. So it's not as if we are available after the fact. We are always for them as long as we are live basically, I have told them that myself.
There is a hands-on portion, both in laboratory phases of treatment from the restorative and the surgical portion as well as doing live surgical treatments on their own patients through our connections with Temple University in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, which is a tremendous learning experience. You can hear it, you can see it, you got to touch it, you got to do it like anything else and do it right, to do it without bad habits in essence. That's what the agencies strives to achieve. I've just seen a tremendous difference for ourselves, our faculty grown, the doctors have gone and that from the doctors.
When I went to a general store, which was more than 25 years ago, implant dentistry was being done at that time primarily by the creative guy down the street. Today, it has become a standard of treatment for majority of patients, at least the standard with respective to the option of knowing what's in there. We doesn't have any patients who go through the treatment within but some of the option truly presented to a patient. If you don't have any indication that is just from reading a journal here and there, that may not be properly educated patients along the way.
So go to the institute and there are a lot of doctors that have gone through the institute that don't take the next step of treating patients on a routine basis. For at least they have the knowledge of what possibly is exists and perhaps who will they refer them to, whereas other doctors have gone thought the program as great referral source or to people that are involved directing the institutes self, the faculty or Dr. Niche and these things to tell these patients. Certainly all of us can't treat every single patient. And there are those patients who I refer to other doctors who are better qualified, whether it's an implant therapy or other procedures that I don't do on a routine basis. The bottom line is what's best for the patient. If I can't give them all the options available, then I am not doing my job. If I don't know those options, I can -- that's really why coming to the institute even if it's just one or two program, it doesn't have to be every program necessarily. We'll give the doctor coming through a better understanding of what is potentially well up there to then look for accordingly if he or she is not going to treat the patient himself.
