Okay, I'm going to tell you a little bit about the blending process. Some companies allow, some don't, depends on situation, but here is the dirt behind it. If you're replacing a panel, or you are repairing the panels directly adjacent to an unbalanced panel, it's often acceptable to go ahead and blend. The reason is, the human eye, as you can see the paint colors can totally tell the difference especially on a vehicle that has been rubbed a little bit. If you put new paint, verses even the same matching paint.
So what you want to do is start to blend out, to kind of take that off the eye, the human eye will see the transition and to do that, you have to remove, install the mirror, the door handle and the interior trim panel from inside to access this handle and some companies probably would have mask with tapes, these items but best way to do is actually to remove and install them. That's just a little bit of the theory behind why panels are blended is to actually make the paint transition smoother, so the human eye doesn't see a direct transition trim, one panel is one darker, and one is lighter.
