In a study of over 600 children, researchers found that those with parents affected by bipolar disorder had a 14 fold increased risk of developing bipolar spectrum disorders. Finally, from Bethesda, according to research in the Archives of Pediatrics & Adolescent Medicine, teaching toddlers to swim reduces the risk of drowning. In a study of drowning cases, researchers found that only 3% of 1 to 4 year olds who drowned had taken formal swimming lessons, compared to 26% in a control group.
