French toast is not necessarily French, or toast through that matter but that does not mean it is not delicious. Now, what it consist of is bread and egg butter. For the bread, I suggest using thick slices so the butter can soak into it and you want to use bread that is a little old; not moldy, just old. It makes easier for the butter to soak in.
For the egg butter you are going to take two eggs, crack them into a large bowl. Large enough for the bread can actually fit in. Then you are going to take a half cup of milk, and pour that in. Then you are going to take about a half or half to a tablespoon of sugar and dump that in. With your whisk, which is a such a fun name, you are going to whisk this and beat it like a red headed stepchild which is really horrible saying. I felt sorry for those red headed stepchildren out there. But anyways, you are going to beat that, and once that is properly mixed in together, you will take the bread and you will dump that in. And let that soak for a little bit. Mmm. Yummy.
So, while that is soaking, we are going to walk over to the pan and prepare it. Now, with your pan, you want to take it and put some butter, some margarine, some cooking spray and they are just so your French toast does not stick to your pan.
Now, we are going to take our – again it is going to be like a medium heat. We are going to take our bread that is been soaking in there. And we are going to plop it on there. And you got to look that I cooked at both sides about a minute. What should happen is the bread should begin to look golden brown. Once it looks that way, it is going to be a little crispy on the outside hot all the way through; it is ready.
Now once it is ready, you put it on the plate top it up with some powdered sugar, some cinnamons, some syrup and whatever you like and enjoy!
