The Size Matters Question for Men and Women
Dr. Lisa: Let’s see. How about you? Go ahead and stand up.
Bonnie: Hi, Dr. Lisa my name is Bonnie.
Dr. Lisa: Hi, Bonnie.
Bonnie: Since we’re talking about size, I just have to know. I always talk to my girlfriends and like the size really matter like down there?
Dr. Lisa: You mean for a woman?
Bonnie: For a woman or for a guy?
Dr. Lisa: Okay for both?
Bonnie: Yeah.
Dr. Lisa: What really it’s actually important for a woman. There’s British medical say that showed women’s vaginas are about three inches to five inches long and that’s pretty much across the board. So then you wonder well, what happens with some men talking about women having bigger ones, right? Well, actually after childbirth, a lot of times there’s a laxity which you may not believe is what a lot of doctors used to do for men. They you know, take them and give them a little wink and said, if you want buddy, I’ll you help you down there, I’ll tighten things up.
Yeah. And so what happened that came out of that was lot of things called vaginoplasty, and basically that’s tightening women up for the male’s pleasure. Well, the problem with this is it can cause bleeding, it can cause infection, it can cause nerve damage, so it can cause the women have trouble actually having an orgasm. So we don’t routinely do that. What you can do women can actually change their size unlike men. Women can do Kegel exercises and strengthen those muscles because of it it's the muscles around of vagina that makes it tight. So there is surgery but you know also you can just work on it with muscles.
Bonnie: And then when say size, are you just talking about length or like -- do women have like a girth thing like guys do, as well?
Dr. Lisa: Length and width. So three -- about three centimeters long, so long as way in an about two inches this way. So yes, the laxity can happen as far as width too. But then also size for men, does size matter?
Well, you know guys would say yes because they all want bigger ones and they all you know they want to get the magnum condoms and things like that, you know? But really it doesn’t matter because women, it's really about what you do with what you have right? Knowing each woman because every woman has different button, so, that’s clearly that it’s really not so much that size matter, so an obviously there could be a spectrum from too small and a very, very large but women can change position and things like that. The average penis size is about 5 to 6 inches erect, so that’s going to fit to average women. So really guys, it’s more about what you do with what you have, right? Okay, that’s the biggest thing. Know your lady. Thank you so much for your question.
