Female: So I’m here with Len, who’s going to talk to us about the process of tattooing. Well first of all, I want to know what kind of inks you use.
Len: It’s not actual ink. It’s pigment, powdered pigment that’s mixed with glycerin and alcohol, distilled water. That’s more safe.
Female: How many layers of skin does it go through when you usually?
Len: You just tattooing into the permanent layer of skin like if you’d like scratch a layer of skin off or a dry skin comes off. Those are the layers of skin that come off all the time, and then underneath, you have a permanent layer skin in which tattoo some like that.
Female: Is it painful?
Len: Yeah.
Female: What’s the most painful part?
Len: Where the skin is more sensitive, inner thighs, chest, stomach, places like that, the throat.
Female: Is there one particular spot that you’re a little bit shy to go into, some people ask you to get tattoos in like weird places or this and that?
Len: Well, it’s part of the job, you know. If guys were to come in and want to get tattoo like you know groin area, I might probably won’t do it.
Female: Is there something else that we should know about the process?
Len: The process is pretty standard. The only thing I would suggest the people who want to get tattooed is just to make sure that they check their artist’s work, check for portfolio to make sure what they’re getting is, what they want.
Female: Well thank you very much. It was a pleasure Len.
Len: Me too.
