Number one David by Michael Angelo located at the Galleria Del Academia, david was constructed by Michaelangelo out of a left over block of marble originating for the Carrera Mountain. Completed in 1504 and standing tall at 5.49 meters this the most recognized statue in the history of art.
Number two, Opoficio del Pietre Dure. This museum is known for housing works of art in the category of Scangulia, which was invented in Florence. Scangulia is the art of creating objects using semi-precious stones. The work that this means being correspond to then similar way and is a dedication to the century old art the museum also shows the equipment and tools that renaissance artist used to created this remarkable works. The collection in this museum is small but the pieces are excellent.
Number three, the antique silk factory of Florence. The only silk factory in Florence which came into existent over two centuries ago, where it was here created the finest silk materials for drapery and pastry to get a taste of history and see how silk was traditionally threaded. Stub by this fantastic textile manufacturer the results will not leave you disappointed.
Number four the Basilica de Santa Maria Del Fiore, built in 1296 the cathedral has become a main attraction for all tourist particularly for those who value pictorial works of art made of stain glass. And a ray of gorgeous works with precise detail can be seen almost everywhere within its walls in addition to statues and sculptures. The Basilica is notable for its domed designed by Filippo Brunelleschi.
Number five, the San Lorenzo Market, the central San Lorenzo Market is house inside a huge iron and glass building that was built in 1874, even though it is now a touristy attraction the market has preserved the part of its charm. Located just a few steps outside the church of San Lorenzo you will find everything and anything you could possibly want in this market. The quality of the products for sale here is not always guaranteed but the prices are hard to beat.
