Number one, Stanley Park, Vancouver’s first park is an evergreen oasis of a thousand acres close to the heart of Vancouver’s downtown core. With the road and sidewalks surrounding Stanley Park, your transportation means can be accommodated whether you are driving, walking, biking or rollerblading along the park. You can relax and enjoy the ever changing and beautiful views, the Lion Gates Bridge or grab a bite at the menu restaurants available in the park.
Number two, Capilano Suspension Bridge. The Capilano Suspension Bridge is one of Vancouver’s most popular tourist attractions. Originally built in 1889, today, the bridge is the fourth bridge at this location and it stands 450 feet across and 230 feet above Capilano River.
Number three, Granville Island. Granville Island is a must-see for any visitor to Vancouver. The island is five minutes away from downtown and has the famous public market, restaurants, theaters, galleries and a kid’s market. It is the busiest on sunny weekends which are the best times to sample the relaxed atmosphere, see the artisans at work and catch the street theater.
Number four, Gastown. From businesses to dining, nightlife to schools dedicated to the arts, this area of Vancouver is oriented towards people who can value life and the arts. Visit the world’s first steam clock. Every quarter of the hour and every hour, the steam clock will whistle a short note or tune. The architecture of the historic buildings and the atmosphere of the surrounding make it almost like stepping back in time.
Number five, Grouse Mountain. Located at the peak of Vancouver, you can board the sky ride which will allow you to see the City of Vancouver, the Pacific Ocean, the Gulf Islands and the Mountain across one mile while traveling on a large aerial tram. Children can be entertained by taking sled rides through Grouse Mountain or seeing endangered animals playing at a secure environment at the refuge of endangered wildlife.
