The Water Birth

Hi everybody! I'm Melanie Raposo and welcome to Mommy's Minute. Giving birth in water may seem like a strange idea but more and more women are opting for a water birth. There are many benefits to this type of birthing option. Being immersed in warm water during labor helps to relax your muscles and reduce the amount of pain you feel.

Some women have said that they become so comfortable in their birthing pool and that their dilation happen so quickly that their baby just slipped out and don't worry about your baby not been able to breathe under water. It's not until your baby comes to the surface that he or she will take that first breath. Giving birth in water is a safe and healthy choice for any woman who wants to minimize their pain during labor and maximize their experience of birth.
