People argue a lot of stupid things. There are skinheads an chowderheads. DiStefano was one of the greatesr but I saw all top players since the 50's and, great as he was, he is not on Pelé's level. No player is. Pelé took a team that never won anything to win (against Europe's champions) 2 Intercontinental cups, won 3 World cups, first one at 17 years old, was criminally injured by Portugal in England thereby seeing Brazil eliminated. There are idiots who say pelé won because Brazil had so many cracks. The England World Cup showed who was Brazil's most important component. People argue lots of thing. Find out for yourself if you never saw him play. Above all, don't listen to his detractors' propaganda. Too bad video wasn't around when he did was playing. I saw him from 58 to his Cosmos days and no other player ever did so much for so long at that level.

Male Speaker: Our final sport starting 11 is Argentina and Spain Alfredo Di Stefano. Di Stefano was born to Italian immigrants in Argentina and has distinction of playing internationally football Argentina and Spain. He is the third highest scorer in Spanish League football with 219 goals. He was for decades the highest scorer in European Cup/Champions League football with 49 goals before Roald of Real Madrid broke the record in 2005. Di Stefano has the distinction of never playing in the World Cup for either Argentina or Spain but don’t let that persuade you. He was a powerful centre-forward with great speed, great vision on the pitch and a blooming shot. Some people argue that Di Stefano and not Pele or Maradonna is the greatest player of all-time. On the bench should any of our forwards suffer injury we are going to have Holland’s Marco van Basten. Van Basten had a lustrous career for Holland and AC Milan. It’s a shame that the ankle injuries that he suffered because of rash challenges by his opponents forced Van Basten to retire young. He is the presently the coach of Netherlands.
