The Xbox 360 Elite - Unboxing
Hey, what's up guys, John Retinger with John4lakers.com here with an unboxing for you of the Xbox 360 Elite. I had an Xbox about two years ago and sold it and now I have a Wii and a Playstation3 in between them but I decided to sell the Wii, haven’t turned it on in almost a year, I really wasn’t using so I sold it with a huge accessories and games and repurchased an Xbox. I’m really looking forward to reviewing the new Xbox Experience and while I was trying out Netflix streaming on the 360, I’m a really big movie guy so I think the ability to stream Netflix content on the TV should be a really nice addition. Also all of my friend have a 360 so I’m looking forward to getting some online gaming and also with you. My name is John4lakers on Xbox so go ahead and add me and we can game a little bit together.
Also guys the first video I filmed with the Flip Meno HD, so if you’re considering getting the camera, is sure to watch this especially closely for you if it meets your need and wants. And also a special thank you to YouTube user titoJR for making the entry you guys just watched. Its one of the intros I’m considering use to be sure to check him out with the link in his channel on the side bar. Okay guys, enjoy the unboxing and I’ll see you in the next one.
Lets get down to the unboxing, so here is the Xbox 360 Elite console, I also picked up a year subscription to Xbox Live with a free month and a trial of Netflix and a copy of Call of Duty World at War, I love the Call of Duty games, I’m really looking forward to giving this a whirl. Let’s put those aside and let’s go ahead and open up the system and see what we got going on, so here’s the box, Xbox 360 Elite. It comes with two games, it’s a holiday bundle, Indiana Jones Lego, Kung Fu Panda, probably not going to play that, either of those, anyway it says what’s inside, stuff about the console on the back, you got some information about it right on top. And on the side of it here says what's in it and kind of compares the Elite to the other consoles, this one has a 128 gigabyte hard drive and comes with an HDMI cable, headset and rest of the stuff, we’ll see when we open it up and on the back of it you got a picture of some games and some text. Nothing terribly exciting there, the ultimate system for games and entertainment, actually you’re looking forward to being able to stream Netflix, it’s actually one of the reasons why I got this.
Lets open this up here, go and break the seal right there, all right, it slides out like this, put this down and lift the box top up. All right, here on top is the console itself, you really have to hack in there, we’ll review this more thoroughly in a second, you guys can see my cat is a little bit curious about what's going on down there on the box. That’s Mercedes but she’s a little bit in the way right now, so let’s go and move her a little bit. Important, please read, experiencing issues of concerns while setting up your system stop, probably should read it but I’m not going to. Get the most out of your 360--whatever. Lets see what we have in the box, lots of bags, lets pull this back a little bit, first bag, headset, kind of cool, actually before I get to the boring stuff of cables lets look at the console here and see what's inside. So here is the Xbox 360 Elite, well take off the plastic, its not a very heavy console actually, I’m hoping it was a little bit heavier, so we will pull that back but the black is nice, kind of a matt looking black. It’s not glossy, so there is the front of it, there is the power button there, the eject button, the IR port and then two memory card slots and a connect your wireless controller and the slot where the DVD tray comes out.
Right here, this port for two USB controllers and on the left hand side there’s your 120 gigabyte hard drive and you can release that just with that little lever right there and some mesh for cooling on the back of it where all the ports are. So we got HDMI and that big slot for connecting component cables, kind of a bricked up plugs in there and the component cables come out to your TV. Ethernet cable and the USB port for the wireless USB adaptor. This does not come with wireless, I wish that it did and this two massive fans for cooling and where the power chord goes and just some mash events on the other side of the console. So we’ll go ahead now and put that off to the side, back here to where the cat can't get to it. So we just saw the headset, on the headset there’s a neat little remote here so you can turn it on or off when you want to talk and there’s a little volume wheel.
All right, so moving right along to what's in this mystery green pouch, we got this thing, that plugs into that big brick port looks like a deposit possibly? A ton of cables for this thing, that’s for sure. The controller, I love the Xbox controller, open this thing up, black controller, kind of familiar feel to it, yes I know you’ve all seen an Xbox controller, shoulder buttons on top and kind of a battery pack on the back. Looks like inside they also included a few batteries that was nice of them. Two Energizer double A’s, so we see they put in some legitimate batteries, don’t know how long they last but at least they’re in there in the black controller. This is the really exciting one here; it’s an Ethernet cable, really freaking fancy. Lots more cables, look they included an HDMI cable, that’s nice of them, so grey HDMI. I only have one USB port on my TV which kind of sucks but that keeps unplugging and plugging it. That TV right there is a 50 inch LG, goes back here to the box, all right let’s see what else we have.
This thing, this has to be the component cable. Yes there you are, plug it into that massive brig, you can select and just your video audio connectors. Nothing too fancy there and I assure those two games are somewhere in the box, lets see and pick this up. These games are not in the box, there's a power chord, and I think its going to plug into the massive power brig for about there. Speaking of massive power brick, take a look at this, this thing is huge. They have still not made it smaller since when it came out. This thing is like the size of the Wii itself, I mean crazy. Imagine if they put this inside the console, the thing would be huge. So power brick, so guys that’s everything in the box, lots of fun stuff. I’m looking forward to setting up the console and getting my Call of Duty on. I don’t know what my name I’m going to set up there is but once I do setup an Xbox tag, I will all let you guys know and we can play online whenever I’m on there and get my Netflix streaming going.
