We start with the proper boxing stance.
First of all, your elbows are closed to your body. Left hand is a little bit higher than your right hand, your left hand right by the side of the cheek. You shift your weight. About 60 % of your weight goes to the front leg and about 40% on your back leg and then on the ball of your feet on the back leg. Just like a sprint runner before they take off in the sprint, the ball of the feet and then take off. The same applies to boxing. You will be able to move faster.
When you lead forward, you lead with the front leg. Forward, front leg goes up first, the back leg immediately follows and at the end of each step, you went down with the same posture that you started with, the same boxing posture. When you go back, you lead with the back leg. When you go left, you lead with the left leg. At the end of each movement, you wind up the same with where you had started. When you go right, you lead with the right leg.
You can look as similar as maybe a little faster than dancing the waltz. When you go dance, back, forward, left, to the right.(music playing-demonstration).
