Interviewer: I am here this morning with Roxy from the Thousand Islands Winery which is in Alexandria Bay, New York and she is going to tell us a little bit about the wines out of her winery makes.
Roxy: Hi! My name is Roxy with Thousand Islands Winery. We presently produced same 12 individual bottles of wine. We have Blend wines and we also have Vintage wines. One of the most products is the 00:25 that is the first time Frontenac. It was the first time that the Frontenac grape is been used not for blend but as a Vintage and varietals wine. We produced 2,800 bottles but it also allow. [Laughing]
We have won five medals in the State National, International level. Most love and most proud off right now is the Grizzly, won a bronze medal out in California at the Women’s International Wine Competition from by the Coppola’s. What is interested about our area, we are so far north and at early season -- it is only about four months long and we are actually still producing grapes and Frontenac did come from our mistake been here. So, that is pretty amazing.
Interviewer: Can you tell us a little bit about being part of the newest wine trail in New York?
Roxy: I grew up in this area and I have stayed in New York and I left 20 years ago looking back home just a year ago. Hugely agriculture environment when I was growing up there like my house then people. When I came home, I found that the majority of the farms have started to close up and sub-divide. So, it is really exciting to see agriculture coming back alive in this area because it is look like it was going to be lost and the idea that the wine trails, the last wine trail in New York up State is in the agriculture environment that was look like it was going to go away. It is really in something.
Interviewer: Thank you very much.
