Female: Hey there, welcome to Thread Heads.
Male: Hey.
Female: What are you doing, it is like a gazillion degrees out side?
Male: Well with all the question we have been getting on Hoodies this is only appropriate. Like Nikitarama who posted on the forms that they like to see a segment on our show that making Hoodies from recycled or new material, BellaMuertexcore and naturals_not_in_it degreed, then we got a letter from Chase the other day saying he want to see a segment on the show about Hoodies.
So even though it is the freaking middle of summer, we are doing hoodies this week.
Female: This hoodie comes all the way from Germany, from form user G33, sweet I want to make one.
Male: Now we turn it over to Katya, creator of Hollywood renegade clothing, she is going teach us how to take an old band shirt and convert it in to a hoodie.
Katya: My name is Katya, you are in my studio apartment. I have been doing DIY my whole life, pretty much I could not find anything I like in the stores and I thought all trends were crap and I need everybody walk around guessing the same and today I am going to show you how to make your own hoodie out of an old pair of shirt. (Burps.) hopefully that got on the tape.
You are pretty much just going to cut a t shirt shape out of a piece of paper, you can do it free hands and you know T shirts are pretty forgiving so if you do not get exactly right it will still look good. For the front it is pretty much the same thing except you are going to take the neck line down just a little bit and then you just draw a little hood shape a part of the space on the back of your head and then for the neck line part take you patterns that you just made and you take the front and you wind it up. You just kind of put it right there and you trace around it and take the back and you flip it and you trace around that part and put a little notch were it ends.
You have to do back pattern piece, your front pattern piece, your hood pattern piece, if you want to make pockets, you just cut out a little pocket shapes, pretty much just a square with a little circle cut out of it. You are going to take your t shirt and just kind cut it in half, so we are going to lay the back pattern piece over the logo, there you put it on you are just kind of cut around it just like tracing.
You know with your first couple of things that you made is they do not come out exactly how you picture them do not get discourage, like your making it on your clothes is really nothing, it is not better feeling than that I am pretty sure.
Female: You got that right, when we return Katya finishes her lesson and we check in with our viewers. Stay tuned.

Katya: Now that we have cut around the front patterns piece, we are going to cut down the centers and this is for the zipper. I am going to be using a bit of extra fabric for the hood and for the pockets, black and white skull to go with the t shirt. When you are taking the pattern lay it down on the fabric and then you are going to pin it in place. iI you want to make pocket, this would be the appropriate time to pin them down and cut them out. We have everything cut out now so let us get sawing.
Now you are going to saw the hood together. I just sawed around just the curve part that is it. Now that you got your hood sawn and you got your pocket sawn on, we are going to do the side seams and the straight seams on top. You are going to end up with this. What can be not irritating because you have to ease the hood into the neck line but if you pin it enough then you will be fine. All we have left to do is put in the zipper and fold up the hem, pretty fucking sweet.
