Hey there welcome to thread heads.
Now as we all know, making your own clothing definitely has some challenges.
(Awe…)
But with a little practice and perseverance you will only get better.
(Clapping)
This disaster was sent in to us last week by Niko who had a little trouble with some stencils.
(Siren Sound)
Hello DI Wires:
Recently, I try to make a stencil of my hero Bruce Campbell. This stencil came out alright except, I made a lot of mistakes on the way.
1. I made the stencil on a regular paper. It worked perfectly first time on the shirt. Then I just make stupid mistake of trying to do it again with the same paper.
I tried to fix that by spraying it all over with some more spray paint that really ended badly.
So then, I tried to fix that with the trusty little bleach pen.
So now I have got this destroyed shirt see? Yes.
But how would one recuperate from this kind of mistake?
Alright this is totally our fault,
(Throat Growling)
My fault,
(ha!)
See on Chris episode, I kind of forgot to include this crucial clip.
Alright, next you want to get your self some acetate.
Acetate is a real thin paper like plastic. You do not want to get some spray adhesive.
Just fuel light coat on your stencil,
Lay it down and you are going to get some flat wax spray paint go over it really quickly.
Then pill this off after it dries.
You are going to have a stencil on here,
That you have to re cut again. So I will get a hundred sprays out of it.
Or is this, I get maybe 2 and I am done. And all that work is for nothing.
My bad, so here is what we did.

We first had to make a replica of Niko shirt to see what we are dealing with.
Definitely a mess,
But with a little called creativity, we are going to turn this thing around.
Your first moves, grab a piece of cardboard. Draw and cut a rectangle that is bigger than your disaster area.
Place it over your trouble spot and with some more spray paint, cover up your mess.
Now since this lesson is about creativity, try using your new rectangle stencil to make different shapes and patterns on your shirt.
Alright now we are grabbing small t shirt material and with a pack of stencils, you can get at your local drug stores for about $2.00.
We are writing out, Bruce Campbell for Pres!
Now cut them out, place them on were you want on your shirt and hit them down.
Corinne actually came by and thought me a new stitch called the whip stitch.
You simply knot your thread, poke your needle through the back side of your shirt and drew your two pieces of fabric.
Now diagonally thread your needle through the first layer of fabric you are sawing on to and repeat.
It creates a cool bunching effect and looks pretty punk rock. So we added them on some of the corners and saw the rest on.
Lastly we throw on an o8 for the upcoming elections add some more spray paint and badam!
One DI disaster salvage into a master piece.
Hopefully this helps. But if not, you can always use it to wash your car and or as a hanky or something.
