Catchers arm action for throwing to second base or throwing to third base. When you start, ideally you would like have a catcher at great halluxer they can come right back here and get rid of the ball pretty quickly, so just make some nice short circle, but when you are starting out with usually kids, they don't always have the stronger arm behind the plate. So in that case, we just work on long lever, make a good throw just like you would from the outfield and try and hit people on the chest.
It's more important to concentrate on the other hand pushing it and getting a good hip turn to get good arm strength and get good flexibility to point to the target to let it go. So once you pretend you are 11 year old right now, and you are just going to take a nice long lever, just stand right there, we are just going to take it -- stand, turn, and throw. Nice long lever, throw it to the second base, just like that.
Okay as you get older, you can shorten that lever a little bit. Okay and then ideally if you can just take a real quick, quick circle get it right to the second baseman, boom. Okay those are the three things you can work on and it is just for turns on your catcher. As they get stronger and they get better, you can shorten that circle. Okay but early on, who knows what position you are going to end up playing, so get the good form, get that arm back and make sure the ball points away, when you catch the ball and you are getting ready to throw it.
