Hey how it is going? I am Shawn with sprinkler daddy and if you are watching this video chances are that you just requested a call form us at the sprinkler daddy home page, so if you have not done that. You should get over sprinkler daddy.ca and sign up for free quote.
Now, that you sign up for your quote what I want you to do is get started right away and I get a few tips to help you a along that process of getting your plan in to us here at sprinkler daddy. So basically, what want you to do is I want you to go in to your yard with a blank piece of paper and a clip board would probably help you too. And, what I want you to do is just look the outline of your yard and I want you to sketch the outline. So, I am just going to use this white board her I am going say look at the yard and probably a square yard and then, it goes into the house there. So, that is all you start with is the outline of your front yard you are looking at the house and then you start adding things in. So, we go a drive way and we got side walk and we got some flower beds. We got our front steps and we got our house. We got our fence and we got a couple of trees and we got maybe a scrap bed. So then, you end up with something like that, so you got everything drawn on just as a rough sketch.
This one is not the scale and then, you want to do the same thing for the back yard of your house, maybe you have a deck and you have a patio and maybe you got a garden. So, you got your plan, just do not have to be anything pretty, just draw out roughly on a piece of pare. And then, what I want you to do is you will just go and you will start to measure, so you will measure from here to all the way down to here. And then, if that is 40 feet what you are going to do is you are going to write 40 feet from there to there and you are going to do that for all of the different measurements, so that you know exactly how long everything is. And then, what you are going to do is you are going to go back into your work station, wherever you wanted to do your design. And, you are going either print out a piece of our graph paper that we have given you to print out or you can just use a piece of your graph paper. The important thing is that we needed on graph paper. It is much easier to get the plan on if it is on the graph paper. So, what you are going to do is you are going to look at your plan and look at your at measurements and you are going to draw out the scales. So, if this length here is 40 feet what you are going to do is you are going to draw a line on graph paper if you are doing it to a scale of one square equals four feet you are going to draw a line that 10 squares long. And then, if this piece right here is a 15-feet, you are going to draw a line that just last then four squares long and you are going to go from there.
Once you get that done you are going to label everything on there for us and maybe trace over if you have done the first draft in pencil. Trace over it in--let say a Sharpe pen or something like that, to get everything, the lines nice and fix. So, it comes through an email or fax pretty well and then, you are going to label everything on there, so your going to label the—so, we are going to say--this is the three by putting Ts in there and you are going label this as shrubs.
And then you are going to say this is grass and then this is the house. And then, this is the patio, then this is the garden, so you got have labels allover your design and then from there, what you are going to do is you are going to mark on where your water outlets are, because we need to tap in the water lines. So, you want to—let us say, we got one at the back there and let us say we got one at the said of the house here. So, your Xs on there and there. So, that is where your water is and if you are requesting an automatic, we also need you to measure from the place were you go to have your valve boxes, which is just below the water tap. In most place you are going to need to get some measurement from there to the place where you want to put the timer, because we need to run the length the wire between the valve box and the timers. So, just include that in the note section of your plan, when you send it in to us.
Other than that, I hope that has not confuse you to much. If you have any questions just send an email Shawn @sprinkler daddy.ca or give me a phone call area code (306) 539 9391 will get you may cell phone.
