This was one of the marketing pieces that a student brought to me, if you are one of my critique. I want to show you, I am not going to read this but I want to show you what I do. First of all, I go through each word, now here is the key. I don't change the message that he has, just the things that I just showed you, those two strategies, if you just tweak them, the first piece that the student sent out, didn't produce any results. The second piece he sent out, he had $52,000 in profit, and I didn't change any of the important words.
I changed the tweaks, because he was saying, what if I could show you this, what if I could show you that, what if I could show. I said, quit saying what if. Tell them, I am going to show you. Now, there are a lot of things like -- I don't have time to go through everything here, but the reason I put it here is because everything, every correction I had here was from those two strategies, $52,000 in sales, that's what those two strategies are. I mean, that's incredible. Little tweaks, we are not talking about some huge, where you have to rewrite and hire a copywriter for $100,000. This was the letter he wrote with just a little bit tweak.
So I suggest to everybody, study the principles of copywriting. Just a little bit. Not only because you might be writing everything, what if you hire a copywriter and they charge you some money? Do you think it's always going to work? Do you think that every copywriter says they are a good copywriter? Who is a good copywriter? Ask me how I know that? Before I started copywriting, I have had plenty of the $10,000, $20,000 lessons where you hire a copywriter and we are talking about names that, everybody says, oh, yeah they are the best, they are the best, their website, look at all the testimonials, great. They know how to write their website, but zero results.
So even if you hire a copywriter, you need to know when you look at their writing whether it's good or not. So study the principles, not you don't have to learn everything, but study principles of successful and profitable copywriting.
