Hi, I am Matt and this is the Shirtless Apprentice. On this episode of the show of shirtless apprentice, I am going to give you some basic tips for shooting DVD for online video. One of the first tips is to make sure that you hold the beginning and the end of on camera moves, for at least 5 to 10 seconds.

The reason behind this, is, when you go to edit the footage, if you did not leave yourself enough room at the beginning and the end of the move, then you are not be able use transitions, you might not be able to cut it the way that you are envisioning. So in order to avoid trouble impost, you are going to make sure that you leave this extra video on all of your moves, it is just a generally you should always holds shots, even if they are static shots. Five to 10 seconds is a good rule.
One of the next tips has specifically to do with each camera, especially consumer cameras. You want to make sure that you learn how to adjust your manual settings specifically for your camera. Your settings may include focus, zoom, white balance, and iris and there is probably a gamma of all other settings that you can control once you look at your user manual. And the reason that you want to do this is, as tine progresses and you become more skilled at shooting, you are going to manipulate this settings, and if you do not know how to do it and you are clumsy with it, it is going to get in your way.
Another tip would be, to get use to using a tripod or a monopod. Tripods now are relatively cheap, especially for small consumer cameras, and they can help give you a more professional stable look. Also if you are moving around, monopods are good options. They are cheap, you can even find the websites online, that show you how to construct them out of broomsticks or mop handles and there are good ways, just as to keep you on the move, but will still allow you to stabilized your shot.
One final tip, to always remember when you are shooting, is just to stay away of your surroundings. It is really easy to look in your camera, and forget where you are or what is behind you or the fact that there is a street behind you, and there are cars coming. If you are in a dangerous spot that is always has to come first, and you have to pay attention on what is going on.
