Allison Castillo: According to the Washingtonpost.com, the phrase “good divorce” doesn’t have to be an oxymoron, and now, an oxymoron is not a man who can’t figure out how to get tough stains out his clothing. In the article How to get a Good Divorce, five divorce experts offer up advice including setting the tone. By having a conversation that acknowledges your desire to work together and make the process as peaceful as possible, keeping your kids out of the process not using them as go betweens and showing them that problem solving really can work, and choosing carefully who you confide in and who you tend to. All the experts also suggest the threesome, not the kind that got you in trouble in the first place. Brining in a professional mediator rather than a lawyer often helps keeps stress and fighting to a minimum. Now, four of the experts are divorced, two of them twice. So here is my advice to them, maybe think a longer next time before saying “I do”.
