Ken: I congratulate you.
Daria: For what?
Ken: Getting all the tax stuff done early.
Daria: No it’s not done yet. Don’t congratulate me because now I’m really depressed.
Ken: You’ve made a very, very good start at, Daria. Daria gets all the stuff together and actually we don’t do our own, we send it to an account but Daria is going to like envelopes. You’re in a very, very good shape which is sort of which reminds me —
Daria: The reason I do that, time is money. They build by the hour just like a lawyer. The more you can give them that they don’t have to waste time doing themselves, the lower your income tax preparation build will be.
Ken: That is a tax tip in this video that I did not plan to pass along and guess what, I think it’s better the ones I did. Well, one thing you want to do and what Daria is going to leg up on maybe you’d do too, is to file early. Now, the deal is Daria, just because you file early because there’s some empty mess that doesn’t mean you’re necessarily going to get your refund check early but you should still file as early as you can because it’s about a 110 million returns are going to be end.
Daria: This is the year in which the Dolan’s are finally, if forever more vindicated. We always yell at you each year; do not over pay your taxes all year long.
Ken: Daria, don’t yell, they can here you.
Daria: Do not overpay your taxes all year long so that you can have for savings in the way of the big refund check. All you’ve done is lend the government money for zero interest.
Ken: Check you with all of these.
Daria: Although, this year you’re going to pay the price because those of you that likes to be the first kid on your block in January since that W2 comes in filing those taxes to get your check back, they’re not even going to process these returns until the February 11th date electronically and probably for paper returns as well. Thanks to the Congress which drag its feet on modifying the alternative minimum tax for the year that didn’t do it until the final days of the old year which meant that the paperwork for the IRS and the computers have all recapped for this.
Ken: All right Daria stop beating up what —
Daria: So your returns are going to be late.
Ken: Not everybody is going to be late.
Daria: It’s going to be late for those that thought they get in at the beginning and get their money back right.
Ken: Well you’re more than a month into the New Year so get going. Anyway, be sure to feel out the forms carefully. I know it sounds like with stupid lecturing to you but you know the two most common mistakes, not signing their return. Listen to this, unsigned return. Federal Law says “you have not filed your taxes.” Yeah but you said, you didn’t sign it, also a problem, bad math.
Daria: Bad math, yes. But another problem that occurs and more mistakes occur is if during your own taxes and you’re looking at the tables for income, use a straight rule a straight edge or a ruler, please.
Ken: To get the right number.
Daria: Because what happens is people take different gold cross and all of a sudden they get into the wrong amount because they sort of move their finger up or sort of move their finger down and now your returns wrong and they are going to bounce it back at you anyway.
Ken: Be sure to include all the paper work and all the receipts otherwise the government may make us sort of do the own Math if you get my point. Also if you need help you can go to AARP. There’s a thing called AARP Tax Aid, where you can get help when you go to AARP.org and get the nearest location for tax aid if you want.
Also there’s a good phone number it’s 888 toll free 8886872277. If you need help AARP.org, get on it. It’s not happy but you’ll be happy when it’s done. We’re finished we have no more tips.
Daria: One more. No I’m not finish, refund checks. You know you can get those great loans that get to your refund at the web faster. You’re going to pay somewhere between 40% to 700% in interest. They are a scam. They should have been shot down as soon as they came to life they have not been, don’t you fall prey to making some tax preparer rich.
Ken: You start it with the best tip you ended with a great tip, congratulations. She’s the best.
Daria: You want to finish the taxes for me?
Ken: No.
