Tips for toothpicking your bike

Once you are comfortable doing nosepicks I guess the next step is maybe is to try the toothpicks assuming you have the front peg of course. To do a toothpick it is very similar to the motion of a nosepick you want to wait to be centered over the coping for a toothpick so basically your front wheel propped below the coating just pull back just a touch, just enough to keep you weight a little over the coping and then twist and shove your body down kind of like a nosepick. If you have front brakes and you use them for toothpicks, it is not necessary but being that your peg is on the front wheel and is kind of off the trajectory of the ramp, it helps to stabilize you and keep your body position I guess and also similar to nosepick is the fact that when you are on the toothpick and you are a little afraid of riding our of it you can let your back tire fall down in kind of learn your confidence the same way when we talked about nose picks. Once you are ready to ride away, balance on your front peg and basically all you need to do is to lean into the ramp a little bit pull your front peg off with your arms and make sure that you release your front brakes so that you can go and just roll away. That is basically all that there is to it.
