Home to many national landmarks, it comes to no surprise; Washington is a major touristic attraction. Hey! Welcome to watchmojo.com, I am your host Christine and today will be sharing with you the top five places to visit.
Number one, the White House. The White House has been home to every U.S President except for George Washington. Tours of the White House can include at least 10 people and they are scheduled approximately one month before the tour date.
Number two, Chinatown. Chinatown is a small historic neighborhood which consists of about 20 Asian restaurants and some small businesses. The Friendship Arc marks the site at H and seventh street. The annual Chinese New Year festival and parade is held there too.
Number three, the National Gallery of Art. Here visitors can view European and American paintings, sculptures, and the works on paper. The National Gallery of Arts includes a sculpture garden and a fountain is at the center of the garden but it serves as a nice swing in winter.
Number four, the National World War II Memorial. This national memorial honors the 16 million who served during World War II and those who supported the war effort with grand sculpture panels.
Number five, Franklin Delano Roosevelt Memorial. Located along the famous Cherry Tree Walk, this is a memorial to Roosevelt and the era of the Great Depression. There is a statue with him seated in a wheelchair which resembles the one he had used.
