Melbourne has a modern and vibrant downtown scene with many shopping and business districts. Number 4: Royal Exhibition Building. This remarkable building is UNESCO World Heritage Site. It was built in 1880 for the international exhibition. Number 3: The Shrine of Remembrance. A famous landmark of Melbourne, the memorial was built as a tribute to those who fought for the country in World War 1. Number 2: Saint Paul's Cathedral. A magnificent Anglican Cathedral that was constructed in the 19th Century. Attending the service here is quite an experience. Number 1: Twelve Apostles.
