Torley Talks Control of time and space
You want to know one thing that I love it’s the economical costs of materials to produce arts and I don’t just mean in a physical sense, I mean also in the digital sense. It’s very, very refreshing to know that 1.5 terabyte hard drives have brought to as slow as I’ve seen them as $83.00 and all those have made my line Seagate’s reputations as though stirring around that. I have chosen them and so far they are working great although I bought them from concerning more.
These are billions of text pages. These are thousands and thousands of images and videos. I’m not exactly sure how many because I haven’t filled my net yet but it all helps with iterations. I was trying Apple back up or Apple time machine rather. They’re really simple backup program and what’s really cool with that is some of the other approaches I’ve seen that you can save your work on an airy hour. This is what Apple time machine does. It will automatically backup prior copy.
So well, we’re working at something like the one I did five hours ago was a lot better to what I have now but I saved over it. You can just go back in time and retrieve that. To throw over time and space is incredibly essential to be in credit. If you’re not aware of your time or your space or your dimensions host your physical and your mental and other sorts of constraints then you’re not going to make anything worth making.
So with these sorts of options there is the flexibility to go back. Wiki form editors are also very fine example of this because you have the card to launch to page edit. Word Press has added this also to talk of other specific tools. So what am I really fond of sometimes is anything that’s going to rare of gems or as I like to cut you know remix and your past there. It’s really, really enriching to have our artist history. Your history unfolded before you.
There’s bound to be the human vulnerability of that was my early stuff. It’s not so good. Maybe not but when you look at all those best selling hit confirmations and the analogies of already so we’re now legendary I’m referring to musicians like Bob Dylan, the Aero games with the Beatles anthology. Look how many fans tries and boastful it is despite that fact being their most refined material. Why is that?
Well, one of the reasons often stated is the energy when you’re new, when they’re naïve, when you don’t know and you’re not so aware of the roles, you make things that are too self-conscious. Later on in life as you are more established artists it’s more difficulty to know where outside of the lens are because you painted within them so in touch or you created your own rules or own sound or your site for yourself.
It becomes difficult to depart yourself outside of that and look at it from the prospective of someone who’s starting like you but knew. This is also something which with great fever I notice when I’m looking at some of the works that I’ve made before. Something to myself, it had this naiveté of the time which I don’t have now but there are still some things from there which I’d love to integrate with my current work like the style program to beat.
I didn’t know how to do it a proper drum and base beat back in ’98 or so and so I just I did them on drum sounds which were part of the standard Lexicon. Of course you get laughed at it because it’s something very different but something that only I did and that’s something to remember, pass any words, pass any duration in the school you may experience to really look at what you are doing after time. One fantastic example, well I'm mystery of fantastic but it was very intriguing how Ronnie size the drum base jungle legend in my book anyway. How he referred to the new forms reissue as having like a new code of armor.
Taking that earlier work he did and I’m not so fond of his later original tracks but they weren’t quite fully remixed. They had some additional drum or some toughening up of the mastering and compression but overall I thought it was great for a fantastic it didn’t blow me away like that but it was substantial.
So when we look at these things and when we’re look at your history there is usually the early faces and you’re going to go through appearance. This is how it is, in your time and your life things are going to affect you as a human being. For whatever you do as an artist. Make sure you have control of your time and your space.
