Torley Talks On storing your ideas
We need ways to store and share or transmit our ideas. This can be difficult thing sometimes when you get ideas at opportune times. You maybe in the shower and not have a marker that is water compatible to write this. You maybe on a bus without a pen, without a Blackberry or iPhone to dictate into.
There are any number of any kinds of situations where I’d rated yes that’s the way for you and that sometimes is a misfortune. It’s like being a farmer out in the dessert, like in the dune with the sand worms but without sand worms by with a magic pocket of seeds. The only seed they’re cultivated to their price seeds and they would grow wonderful crops, wonderful food that also serves as flowers and they can be use. Ornamentally they can use functionally as nutrition.
The problem is though every time you lose one of those ideas, it’s like a seed out of the pocket is gone forever. You don’t know where it’s going to go. You don’t know where it’s going to grow because other component store in it just like the water. You nourish it. You build that upon that idea.
I’ve often run across this problem myself which is why I like to share with you. I tried different things over time like have been paper notepads, most kind. They’re not really most skin by the way. Disappointment to me but I used my computer more recently of course to just whatever I have. I used things on the Mac which is very nice to do program. I use every note on Mac and Windows. These though as wonderful as they are. They are tools so you have to train yourself to use them. If you train yourself to use the shortcut keys every single free conceptual friction on your way from conceiving ideas to storing it, to transforming is an additional deterrent.
You know it’s kind of like someone having a hard package of seeds to ripple. If they are too dark and hard you might give up and that’s what often happens. If a program is too a few clicks even, too difficult you’re not going to use it. It’s death by attrition by the way. If you choose to get something simple even then you have to cycle yourself into it and like a farmer it comes in cycles. You have to have your crops harvested, got to take good care of them and if you use service animals make sure to treat them nice but that sort of an extended part of this analogy which I would get into and in this space anyway. Always be considering though how do you store your ideas? And how do you retrieve them, your searchability is obviously a very, very important point if you can’t find it in this crazy pile of ideas again you probably give up.
I have sometimes tag clouds or nice and handy again a tool use it you become familiar with it and it really works for you be compassionate and you share that with other people you help them to store their ideas because this is where it gets really fascinating with collaborations, with the normal internet you’ll have that out there in the so called cloud and I don’t like that term too much. I think it’s very buzzy without much meaning like that farmer.
Think of yourself out there and you want to grow these crops, you want to bring them in the town and you may want to create a more advance transport system and you’re going to tell a transportation system to junk the use in the best of your reference the seeds and the town.
But remember without storing them you absolutely cannot grow them to fruition. They will never be a big tree. This is a good tree, not a tree that you burned down the blocks radius but these are different kinds of trees. These are the kinds of trees. These are the kinds of plants, these are kind of organic growth and you must see. Often when I’m making things I often pick to how they relate to my other creations like for instance I like to really bury it up to explore what I am not. I like looking at the works of each peel of crop because he’s not the kind of writer that I’m really into although I like Steven King. I know he influences Steven Kings significantly.
I like looking to this sort of myths and how he must have notice and keep track of all these bizarre creatures based on prior work and that helps when you use internet. You upload ideas very quickly like through Wiki and you put them out there and even if you forget them you could look for them later or someone else can and then someone else can build on ideas which you stored.
