Hey guys, John here with a new unboxing for you. This is my second non-Apple unboxing, so I know you guys like this so I hope you enjoy. What it is, is the new Toshiba HD-A2 HD-DVD Player, HD-DVD Player. Best buy and WalMart, two big box retailers here in the states were selling this kind of a one day special for $98. For $98 it was kind of hard to come down even Blu-ray ends up winning, it’s only down less than $100.00, so seem like a no-brainer so I’ve been able to pick one up. So let me show you guys the box here, I’m using my eye sight. So let’s see if unboxing will work, let’s open up and see for what it comes to it. Alright. Now one thing to note if you buy an HD-DVD player, and you fill up out a form online, Toshiba will send you five free HD-DVDs when you’re supposed to buy ten I think.
Alright, let’s see what we got in the box. A remote control, show you that in a minute. Instructions, important notice “Congratulations, have obtain your firmware updated. The firmware update if ever you have Ethernet based broadband connection”. Essentially you plug it in to an Ethernet cash when you get it, so I'm assuming it’s got—Let’s take it out the box, and that’s it in the box. There is nothing else in there except for the player. So let’s take a look at the player, and here is that notice by the way about getting a firmware.
And again this is the model HD-A2, I think it was so cheap because it’s going to be placed by the HD-A3. So let’s take it out there, let’s see what we got. The—looks like an instruction book, component cables, power adaptor and two triple “A” batteries and I’ll show you guys the remote real quickly. Are you curious? Here is the remote with pretty full functions, looks like a—TV too, on the counter. So that’s the remote, looks really thin, nothing terribly fancy.
Alright let’s get to the player. I’ve been wanting an HD player, either HD-DVD or HD-Blu-ray for a while but there is no way I was going to buy one when they were $500.00, $600.00 especially since you do not know who’s going to win the format work. Here is the player, just take out these lots of pieces, of foams, alright. There is the player guys, take a look at the back over here first, I’ll get it with you and see we find, get that on frame. There is the Ethernet port, look like it’s got optical audio, component, I think even an optic component and the audio S video, HDMI, and power over there and fan. Nothing terribly fancy.
And on the front, I think that this should be down, I think that’s where the - get that frame for you. You have the skip, pause, I see there are two extension USB ports right there, not sure what does it for but they are HD-DVD player. Compare your experience at HD-DVD, it says on this thing. So guys that was my HD-DVD player, I’m going to hook it up. I’ll let you guys know that I think, if you’re interested, I’m pretty excited. In addition I also bought, Unforgiven, one of my favorite movies, hold on. Excuse me, sneezed. One of my favorite movies, I’m going to set it to watch that, guess I want to see what an HD-DVD looks like here at the box.
It’s a little bit smaller than the standard DVD box, there’s the disc. Looks like just a regular CD or DVD on the back of the disc looks the same. In case you guys are wondering what HD-DVD is or Blu-ray, it’s High definition video, I think it’s something like 6x resolution of a standard DVD. So pretty cool, can show stuff. The videos can be shown in 10ATP, I think this player only goes to 10ATI just fine, my TV is only 720. So there you go guys, that’s the player, I hope you enjoy it. Ask me questions I will be happy to answer them. I hope you guys are doing well, enjoying your day wherever you’re at. Alright guys, talk to you soon. Until next time, bye!
