No, we have got over a lot of different materials and a few different methods in creating prototypes of your toy ideas. But, I have one more prototypers tip for all of you DIY out there. Do not be afraid to catabolize existing toys to help you with your creations. The pros do these all the time. If you are having trouble nailing down the right body proportions of an action figure or the facial features of a doll, or sizing down a board game piece properly, try finding an existing similarly looking toy and building right on top of it. And remember, when it comes to prototyping, there are new rules. When I was building kid rotten tail, one of our more popular puppets, I went and add a little bit creepiness to its character and I had a plastic fork, laying around my shop, which I broke apart and used for his teeth and his clothes.

Now, it may sound a little unconventional, but you can check out this guy in the pages of stuff magazine and at the top of stuff’s most wanted item list complete with plastic fork parts for hands and teeth. And, remember you are making toys, so make sure you are having fun with the whole process.
