Tracy Porter: Well, I think you guys know me well enough now to know that being a passionate person is the key to who I am and I want to encourage you to be even more extraordinary by being passionate about something, anything. Maybe right now, you have something you really passionate about and if you do so get up and enjoy everything about it and if you don’t have something your passion about it. I have to tell you, you must find something, anything, some thing that makes your heart go a flutter that warms the cackles of your heart.
Something that just makes you so crazy, you can't wait to get to it because I’ll tell you what? When you have something that you are truly passionate about it you can't wait to get to it, it will fill your life in the coolest, coolest way. When I first begin designing, you guys I know some of you know this about me but I am graduating in high school and I never went to college and you know that could be a bomber for someone if they felt that that was a really important piece of who they are. I never intended to not go to college. I just travel to Europe in fact and when I come back maybe I’ll go to college but it just didn’t happen that way for me. But I found that the arts were something I was so passionate about.
I always was when I was a kid anyway but then the more I explore and the more I played around with things I just knew that was the thing for me. It just made me so excited. I would just absolutely get so giddy anytime I would make something. I knew it was a direction I had to go in. I had no idea what I was going to do with it, nothing. There is no grand plan, no perfect then. I had no training in any of it. I had no idea what I was going to do. I just had to explore, have every little piece of it until I slowly took these tiny, tiny little steps to get closer to what started to make a sense to me for a plan.
And you know that’s something that people say to me all the time is wow, it’s really cool. Did you have this vision from day one? Are you kidding? Like, who can have—I don’t know maybe somebody does but I did not have vision like this from day one. I just knew that I had too. I still not am not quite sure exactly where it’s all going to go but I know that I’m passionate about what do and I know that even outside of my design work and what I do in the studio and what are lifestyle is and much of it’s driven, you know around what we do
I still had things outside of my work that I’m passionate about my gardening, you know cooking. I love all this stuff so I know you were extraordinary and I know that it’s so key to life to have something that you love, something you can't wait to sink your teeth and do no matter what it is. It can be anything just allows it to take a whole to view. Allow yourself to dream, evolve, and change with. Be passionate about something in life and you will always find joy no matter what.
