Kevin Flynn: Hey everybody, welcome to Travel Bytes. I am Kevin Flynn. This month on Travel Bytes we go to the number one amusement park in the world, Cedar Point. Now before we get to all these roller coasters we are going to drop off our luggage at the hotel, and we have got three hotels that are great for you to hang your head. And all the fun is located right in your backyard literally. Welcome me to the Castaway Bay. Now the unique thing about Castaway Bay is that it's owned and operated by Cedar Point, but it's located on the causeway, just outside the park. The other unique thing about Castaway Bay is the indoor water park, lots of fun, let's go check it out.
The Toddlers Tide Pool. Hey you guys move over, this is the only indoor water park at Cedar Point and it's located here right inside the Castaway Bay. There are 11 water slides and the Castaway wave pool. Castaway Bay is a lush Caribbean themed hotel located right at the entrance of Cedar Point. It's easy to see why so many guests choose to stay here. Easy going bar, their relaxing decor really make it feel like you are on a tropical island paradise, and fun is always around the corner. From your room, with a indoor water park, day spa, restaurant gift shops, a child activity center, and a 6000 square foot arcade. What else could you possibly ask for?
So Castaway Bay has gift shops, restaurants, the indoor water park, in fact, you don't even have to leave the building, and the rooms are great. This one's is a king size bed. You might see to that wall, two bunk beds. So it's perfect for a family. Castaway Bay features a 237 hotel rooms and suites, all of them with an eye towards friendly family accommodations. That was great, great time for the family, the indoor fun park right on side. Now let's check out two more places, two places that are right at Cedar Point in the heartily action. Now it's time to check out Lighthouse Point .
Named appropriately enough after the oldest structure on the Point the Lighthouse 1862 .Lighthouse Point is located along the west bank of the Cedar Point peninsula. It's just a two minute walk from the park. One of the great things about Lighthouse Point are some of the unique housing situations they have here. 64 cottages, 40 Cabins and 97 RV campsites. To my left some beautiful New England style cottages, and to my right some more Cabins. Cottages and cabins have 400 square feet of living space. Bed room, living room, kitchenette, and bathroom.
Steve Mills:Outdoor decks, patios, grills, two cable TVs, refrigerator, microwave, the comforts of home. Lighthouse Point, the pools, the park, the cottages, the cabins. Now let's check out another historical landmark, Hotel Breakers. When it first opened in 1905 we had about 800 and so rooms. Last year we celebrated our 100th anniversary, and it has seen a lot of history over time. The room that we are sitting in right here is part of the original hotel. This was one of the first hotels in this area that actually had powered electricity.
People would gravitate to this resort because of the beach. The beach was the drawing card back in 1870 when George Boeckling had a vision, and it still is the drawing card to this day. We have a lot of other amenities that make it more attract to stay with us. Obviously location right here at Cedar Point, you can just fall off out of bed and walk in to the park. The Hotel Breakers features many the same comforts as Castaway Bay and Lighthouse Point, but it has the signature style, style of it's own.
Steve Mills: Kevin, this is our Horizon Suite more for families . It's like being right at home.
Kevin Flynn:This is the kitchen area?
Steve Mills: This is the kitchen area. right?
Kevin Flynn: It is nice, it kind of combines old and new.
Steve Mills: It does .
Kevin Flynn: Now, this is living. One of the best features here is warm sunny beach that extends right in to the lake area, and if the pool is more your style Hotel Breakers has got you covered, and that's what I call vacation.
Right, so the Breakers is a great place to sleep, and have some fun. So join us next time on Travel Bytes, when we check out three great places in the park to eat. Aright, serve him up. For Travel Bytes, I am Kevin Flynn, we'll see you next time. That was out. That was out.
