Kevin Flynn: Hi, everybody welcome to Travel Bytes. I am Kevin Flynn. This week we are in New York City, the Big Apple. Now the first thing you want to know when you get to New York City, park your car. All kinds of ways to get around here in this city. There are taxis, there are buses, there are subways, there is horse and carriage, there's even rickshaws. You don't want to deal with the hassle trying to park once you get here, believe me. So check with your hotel for special or reduced rates, okay? Now we got the parking out of the way, let's check out a place to sleep.
This month on Travel Bytes, we visit New York City. Our first stop in New York City is the Double Tree Guest Suites Time Square, and you guessed it, Time Square. Thinking about the Double Trees, it's located literally in the heart of all the action, in fact, right across the street you can buy discount Broadway tickets. A ticket yes. One more time the producers on. The Double Tree Suites, boasts some of the largest hotel rooms in Midtown Manhattan, and offers spectacular views of Times Square in the bright lights of Broadway.
You know the great thing about Double Tree is that all the rooms are suites. So the parents in the room here, and the kids, well, they can stay out in this area, with the television, and check this out. Ah, you think it's a sofa, watch this, only we have to move the pillows, and you have yourself a bed. Thank you, thank you very much, the tip Joy is right here. You know, the Double Tree also features in the Center Stage Cafe, a restaurant, a place where I go couple a times a week to make some extra cash, any other quests, Kung Fu Fighting, good one.
I don't see cats, what happened to cats, anybody having cats?
Our next hotel is also family friendly, and though you won't have to stick you neck out, I am kidding, it's the Hotel Giraffe. It's one of the New York City's premier hotels.
Adele Guther: Alright, now we are here at the Hotel Giraffe, which is an elegant 72 room hotel. About a third of our rooms are actually suites, so when we have families here, they are really comfortable.
Kevin Flynn: Now the Hotel Giraffe has been with a glamorous take on things. It's all done up in `20s and `30s Nouveau style, which is the European version of Art Deco. Now this is really neat as well. Two thirds of the rooms have Juliet balconies. Now this particular one, faces out to Madison's Square Park.
Adele Guther: It makes the room feel twice as spacious, and it's one of the most appreciated points that our guests really enjoy when they are here at the Hotel Giraffe.
Kevin Flynn: Part of this hotel signature experience is their wonderful roof top garden, next to their piano suite.
Adele Guther: You can rent this beautiful piano suite with an adjacent bedroom and combine it into a lovely honeymoon suite, with a beautiful fireplace, and of course access to the garden.
Kevin Flynn: Guest are invited to enjoy the terrace on warm evenings, with the piano bar in the lobby. No matter what you chose, it's first class all the way. The Hotel Giraffe also has a complimentary European style breakfast buffet, and a complimentary wine and cheese reception. Cheers.
Now a lot of people travel, they want a hotel with name recognition. What better name than Holiday Inn, it's been around for years. In this particular Holiday Inn, it's located a little bit away from the hustle and bustle. But then again, when you are in New York City, you are pretty much always were the action is. Come on.
The Holiday Inn is always a sure bet while traveling, in addition to all their usual features like outstanding guest services, and kids friendly meals deals, they always have great accommodations at great prices. And a big slice that New York Style Cheese Cake. Thanks.
Now this Holiday Inn, most of the rooms have two double beds. Is also has a wireless Internet access, so mom and dad you can check your emails, and kids, well, as in all Holiday Inns, kids eat for free. There's even valet parking right on premises.
Location is always a big feature and with the Theater District, Carnegie hall, and Central Park, and plenty of shopping near by, this Holiday Inn is a great place to stay.
Hi, so we checked out three great places to stay in New York City. Join us next time, we will check out some great places to eat. From Travel Bytes I am Kevin Flynn. Find that food, taxi.
