Hi everybody, I am Kevin Flynn, and welcome to Travel Bytes San Diego. Now you all know when you are traveling with your family, it's tough to find a hotel that everybody likes. So here at Travel Bytes, we did the work for you, and we found three great hotels right in the heart of the San Diego hot spots.
The first up, the Best Western Hacienda Hotel located right in Old Town. Now Old Town was found in the way back in 1700s. It's got a real feel of old Mexico. It's was the birth place of California. The hotel is located literally steps away from Old Town, and with all the landscaping it really gives that hacienda type feel. The hotel was originally a mall, so all the rooms are really unique, and there are lots of extras, for instance this barbecue grills, if you and your family want to grill up some food, I'll see a doctor.
After a day of taking in all the sites of Old Town in San Diego, it's nice to come back, and kick back on a nice comfortable bed. Oh, the kids have a nice pull out as well, it accommodates the whole family.
Well, that's here from the Best Western Hacienda Hotel, but now let's head for the ocean, the Holiday Inn at Seaworld. Regardless of where you travel, one name that people can always trust, is Holiday Inn, and San Diego is no different, it's located in the heart of absolutely everything, the beaches, the parks, it's got it all.
Brenda Graves: The location I think is absolutely key for this hotel. The families enjoy the location, we are, and I am from Seaworld, we are right across the street from the sports arena, where we have a lot of events, so it seems to be a big attraction for the families.
One of the unique aspects of the Holiday Inn Seaworld, is that some of the rooms have bunk beds for kids, and they have their own video games. Holiday Inn Seaworld is all about family value. Kids stay for free, eat for free, there is free parking, and even have discount tickets on the zoo and Seaworld. Alright, that's it from Holiday Inn Sea World, now off to the Gaslamp Quarter.
Located at the heart of Downtown San Diego is the Gaslamp Plaza Suites. It's a historic building built in 1913, and it's truly gives you the feeling of what life was like in San Diego at the turn of the century.
The building is a nationally registered historic site, and also the city's first skyscraper. The building is a 11 storey of marble, glass and mosaic tile, and you can really feel those qualities when you are in the room. The rooms have everything, even an extra space for your mother-in-law, and finally the Gaslamp Plaza Suites has a beautiful terrace which overlooks Downtown San Diego. So there you have it, three great options for you and the family when you are staying in San Diego. Join us next time on Travel Bytes, when we check out three great places to eat. We'll see you next time everybody. I am Kevin Flynn.
