Hi, welcome to Watchmojo.com. Today, we’re going to talk about Chicago, the windy city, one of my favorite places to go in the States.
Now first of all, Chicago for those of you who don’t realize is really beautiful. It’s on the edge of like Michigan. And one thing I didn’t realized about Chicago until I started visiting it was that so much of it is surrounded by the water. And that basically anywhere you go in the city, you can see the water and it’s really gorgeous and there are these fantastic light pads along the side of the city. And a lot of stuff is boat oriented, so actually if you’re a tourist in the city, one of the first things that you should probably do is take a boat cruise.
The place is called the windy city and for good reason if you go there in the winter, there is really cold gel although it’s not freezing, freezing cold but there’s really a biting wind. But what’s interesting is that people who live in Chicago definitely know this, and so the city makes a real effort in the summer to get everyone outdoors. They seem to use every opportunity that they have to have a parade, to get to out there in the street, to get cool remembering and the Chicago is a great and fantastic place.
An interesting place to visit actually if you’re going to Chicago, I would say you should check out www.metromix.com, it’s a great website and it basically just tells you, you know, if you’re looking to book anything from restaurants to cruises to hotels. Definitely, you should check out Wendell Street or Warehouse District because there are great restaurants, and just fantastic places for going out. Wildfire is in the heart of River North which is a really cool place to check out.
What makes Chicago special is that people are so friendly in the city. It’s also really urban city. There’s a fantastic there you have amazing shops, I mean if you walk along the Michigan Avenue, every shop you can have one of those looking into the world.
If you are a tourist in Chicago, here are couple of things that you should definitely check out. First of all, there’s the Architecture Museum, it’s a must this is not just because my uncle is an architect. You can also take the Chicago architecture cruise through the Architectural Foundation. It’s so much fun. It’s basically this cruise that takes you to all the historic architectural landmarks in the city.
You should definitely also check out magnificent mile and you know obviously you should check out this—in Hancock Towers, it’s just because you know like you’re in the place like that you want to check out, the same way if you go to New York, you check out the Empire State building. You’ve got to check out the Shorenstein Hancock Towers when you’re in Chicago.
There are also phenomenal bike tours around the city. If you go there in the summer month, you can go on your bicycle or they will give you a bicycle and people will take you on tours of the city in a bicycle. There’s maybe a Navy pier where you can go and just like if you want to have a nice date you’re out in Chicago like it goes like here as well what can I say.
You really have to try big dip pizzas when you’re Chicago. They seem to just do it, really phenomenally. If you’re in Chicago in the summer you should definitely check out the taste of summer, and you should also really check out the new Millennium Park, it’s beautiful.
And the Audience State of Chicago and the Museum of Modern art are also fantastic stables so over all I would say Chicago is really fantastic place to visit just the result of the unbelievable night life, the unbelievable architecture, the unbelievable cultural events that you can check out.
