Today, we’ll be taking a look at Whistler Blackcomb. The Whistler Blackcomb Resort is situated in the city of Whistler, British Columbia. It is also that region’s largest ski area at over 8,000 acres or over 30 square kilometers. The average annual snowfall is 33 feet or 10 meters which contributes greatly to this resort’s popularity. Most importantly, snow conditions are reliable and ski season is long with spring skiing lasting until June. The ski lifts at the Whistler Blackcomb Resort have a capacity to carry over 65,000 skiers per hour. Various events at the 2010 Winter Olympic and Paralympic Games were held at this resort including alpine skiing and sledding. Each year, the Whistler Resort Town attracts approximately two million visitors and continues to be a popular destination for ski and snowboard enthusiasts.
