Random pulp political blurbs coming into You Tube, and if you do not like those, you had better keep my ideas pumping.
If something confused you in this video, try watching it again because this is not exactly easy stuff to pick up. If you see a trail and it is on any note, pick a note. If it is on A and you see a trail over it, it means that you will usually start on the B above it. Just follow the key signature of whatever piece you are in.
If that key signature has a B flat in it and you are in A, that B flat would be in it. (Demonstration) Let us say they put a natural over the trail on B, that means that will be a natural. Let us say there is an A but in the key signature there is an A flat, you are going to start on the A flat. You will have the A flat on it but usually, you start on the note above.
Whatever the written note is—let us say you are in A, you are going to start on the note above it, go back down, back up, and then back down. That is the usually the minimum amount. (Demonstration) You will go like that because for a short amount of time, that is all you have. I was actually going to show you how to do this. It is probably a smart thing.
Here are some tips on how to play a trail. You will hold your arm up just like this, nice and even, and parallel with the floor. What you are going to do is hold your hand up and then wiggle your fingers back and forth. A good exercise that can work on this is put your fingers on your lap and go (Demonstration). Just keep going back until you are good at doing stuff like that. Do it with your both of your hands, too.
The major ones we trail with are two and three, two and four, one and three—sometimes, one and two—and very rarely, three and five. Three and five is something very rare. Two and four, one and three, two and three, and you go back and forth until it feels like it is light. You do not want it to be levered. It is all going to be in your hands and you just wave your fingers back and forth. Then, you just tap the keys. (Demonstration) Hand loose and let your fingers fly. (Demonstration)
You can start doing it nice and slow. (Demonstration) As you get better, (Demonstration) and then you can just let it loose. (Demonstration)
My trail is not perfect. I do not have a crawl trail but it is all right. For turns, there is not much to say. (Demonstration) It is down, really loose and fast, and then back to one. (Demonstration)
If you are doing it here, you could go down (Demonstration) and then back. You want it nice, loose, fast, and light, not heavy. (Demonstration)
That is it. Just remember, post your comments. I need comments, juicy comments. Make fun of me, if you wish. Take care. See you.
