Hi, Frugaltech here. And you know when I find good free stuff, I like to share it with you. If you are looking to start a small business or move your small business to the information age, the internet. And you want to do so for free or very little cost. You might want to explore Office Lives Small Business Edition. Now this is a jewel put out by Microsoft, and with this thing you get free website design by using templates. Free web hosting, free email, free contact management, free document management. All up to five users, excellent.
Now let me tell you just some of the things you can do with this free service. Number one, as I've said you can create a web, you can design a website using a template. I personally use them. They're very simple to use and do remarkably good job.
Now once you design a website, you’ve got to host this somewhere. Well you can host it absolutely free with Microsoft. Now what about a custom domain name such as yourcompany.com, well Microsoft let you have a domain name at no cost, but it is associated with office live. For a custom domain name, you really have to pay an annual registration fee of $14.95. Now you can have up to 100 email accounts with this, online document storage and management. There's a contact manager built in to help you with leads and follow up with your contacts. There is email, as I've said.
If you want the premium edition of email. And this allows you to synchronize your email so you can continue to use Outlook, for example. That’s $19.95 per year. As I've said, the first five users are absolutely free.
Now one thing is near dear to my heart, I know a lot of other people hearts are all about, what's the main difference between Office Lives Small Business Edition and Office Live work space. Well work space is designed for an individual to store, manage, and share their documents. With Office Live Small Business Edition is for an entire company. And it comes with a lot more services. As I've said, you can use Microsoft Outlook and synchronize it with Office Live Small Business, but you do have to have a premium email account.
So check it out, this may very well be all you need to get your website up. Your email. Contact management. Work as a team. Collaboration. All absolutely free.
