Hello everyone, and thank you for tuning in to Inside Geek Canada. My name is Evan Thies and today’s our website feature and we are talking about the website TubeMogul. Now if you are watching this video or you have seen any my previous videos, you probably see it at the beginning the TubeMogul logo.
Now, I am going to talk about basically what the company is and the situation I am in with the company. So basically, TubeMogul is a video distribution service, which means when you want to upload your video, you uploaded to them instead of an individual site. So let us say, you have you compressed file on your desktop ready to upload and you want to put in on YouTube. So there you go, you can upload in YouTube. If you want to upload to MySpace or your Facebook or your individual websites, that maybe great but, in service like TubeMogul can basically take that process and narrow it down to no time for you and being everywhere just increases your audience. So it is great that way, and TubeMogul allows you to bring in analytics from all these sites.
So basically, what you are going to do is you go to the TubeMogul website. You create a free account and it is free for their basic service. And, you basically upload the video that you would be uploading to YouTube, the compressed file, and you enter all your credentials, so all your log-in information for YouTube wherever in America or wherever you want to send. You check the box, you can even have the credential save so next time you want to watch the video, it is all there and you just click the button anywhere you go. And then, you click it here and it is done for you and then you get progress updates on when it is there on the video sharing websites. And yes, it is a great service that way.
And second here, I am going to hop on the computer and show you some of the unique feature they offer. But before that, I want to talk about some the great customer service experiences I have had with TubeMogul. So basically, awhile ago when I signup for TubeMogul, I thought it was a great service and I heard about it from variety of people so I signed up but do their free service like perfect for what I needed. What I noticed is that they do offer a premium service for more distributions and more analytics. So, I inquire to them, I just send emails said, “Look, this is what I want to do,” and they came back to me and said, well they do not really offer this to smaller people. Because what they focus on TubeMogul further premium service is they charge of base, quite expensive very convert the most of people but it is for more big media companies that have multiple shows and need the real analytics like that.
What I was interesting is when you get the free you free account, you have a 150 deployments a month more on the free account and basically, that means YouTube and rather on Metacafe, any video said that counts as one deployment when it goes there and I have the time, I want to do five videos a week. And I was saying, well that certainly enough deployments for me in the months. So I said, how can I deal with this? And all I did was the guy said he gave his number and I gave him a call and told me basically what the situations was and that they look for bigger media companies people they can pay more. And obviously, I could not afford that. And they sent to me for free that they do not mind deployment a months and that is all I really needed. I like the analytics but I do not need the advance package that they have, not from me personally anyways.
And all I have to do in return was to put a banner out of my website or put the meta tags. So what I am doing is I am asking meta tag for I mean all the videos, I distribute. As long as they put this logo there just because I really love their service. I mean, I am not required, I am not being paid by TubeMogul to put the logo here, anything like that. I just really re
