In the past your Internet "history" was kind of a disorganized mass of previously visited URL's. In Internet Explorer 8 the history gets some real functionality. You can sort it by date, most visited, site and visited today. You can even search your browsing history to find that site you were on last month.

Hi, this is Michael Callahan “Doctor File Finder” and welcome to part nine of our special Butterscotch.com ten-part series on Internet Explorer 8. Now in this segment I take a look at the history function Internet Explorer 8. Click over here on favorites and down on the history tab. Now by default the history is sorted by date. You can click Monday, two weeks ago, three weeks ago and so on. If you click here on this dropdown menu you can have it sort of site, by most visited, do by the order of visited today and you can even do a search. So if for example let's try doing view by most visited. So you can see that I've visited MSN the most, I visited my own website a few times and life search, few things on Butterscotch so you can use this to find sites that you visited in the past that you can't quite recall where they are. When you search the history you can go here and type in some text that you think might be relevant and then click search now and it fold up three sites. Now if you click on these you'll go to that site. So this is a great way to utilize the history to sort by date, by site, by the ones that are most visited and so on. So this is the improved history functions in Internet Explorer 8 and that concludes part nine.
